Is this your first professional massage? Curious about some most often questions? Â Either way, here is a little info you should know...also I have tips about your sessions.Â
So let's picture you are walking into a massage session right now and you sit down, fill out paperwork, look around....I am going to want to know if there is anything physically serious going on either recent or non recent, if you are allergic to anything and if there is any areas you would like me to focus on or avoid for the massage. Please let me know if there is anything I can adjust to make you more comfortable as well, there is a table warmer, a face craddle, a bolster, blankets, lights and music that can be adjusted. I will also tell you that anytime during the massage please tell me if my pressure is too much or too light, I can adjust my pressure for you at any time. I usually start clients face down first out of habit but if you would like we can start face up.Â
Tip: A bolster is a pillow meant to be placed under your ankles or your knees to take the pressure off your lower back.
Â
Q: How far should I undress?
A: I highly recommend taking all clothes off, it makes it easier for me to get full body access including the glutes if you want them worked on, I am professionally trained to drape properly...meaning I will NOT reveal your private areas, the most I see is side buttocks. If you are more comfortable with leaving your underwear on then that is okay too.
Â
Q: Should I talk?
A: It is entirely up to you! I only talk if you talk, if you would like to relax and fall asleep then be my guest it happens a lot and I am used to it.
Â
Q: What do I do with my arms?Â
A: I am most likely going to move them where I need them for different massage techniques, so to start out wherever you want to put them, when I am finished I will move them back to where you first had them or you may move them to where they are most comfortable for you.
Â
Q: What if I am not comfortable with something during the massage?Â
A: Please do not be shy, please always speak up anytime you are uncomfortable and I will do my best to adjust whatever is bothering you, this is YOUR massage, my goal is to help you relax in the most professional way possible.Â
Â
Q: What if I need to fart or use the restroom in the middle of the session?
A: Please don't feel bad or hold it in, think of being at a doctors office, I don't care and I've had people do it during a session, I will not laugh at you I promise. I will leave the room so u can get dressed and go to the bathroom if needed, I will go a couple minutes after you come back to compensate for the time loss. Obviously I suggest going to the bathroom before the session but I understand I will be pushing fluids around in your body and things happen.
Â
Q: Can I change my session to a longer or shorter time in the middle of a session?
A: If it is a shorter time then always yes, if I do not have an appointment close to after your appointment and I have time then yes I don't mind going longer.Â
